About Us

It all started in 2005 when Anne went to China and visited the tea markets as part of a tourist tour. She totally fell in love with the teas there and then and bought as much back in her backpack as possible.

Back in Bristol we drank some, sold some and ordered more and we have been ordered more and more lovely big bags of tea from China every few weeks ever since. We came up with the name ATTIC (not because we keep it in the attic) but because it’s an acronym for All The Tea In China. It also happens to be the first letter of ‘Anne’ the last 2 of ‘Ric’ with two TT’s in the middle, it was meant to be! Furthermore  if you are not his kind of thing, from the perspective of hyperspace language it translates to Activation, Opening DNA, Intelligence and Light. More on that another time maybe.

We felt the next obvious step was was to open a little tea bar, which we duly did. It worked really well for about 7 years years but as we found ourselves being drawn more and more down the route of alternative health and spirituality rather than holding a recreational space we realised it was time to let it go. That decision was driven by our own personal interests (we were studying chi gung and yoga at the time) as well as some very important feedback we got from a kinesiologist friend. We asked him to test the teas on the Power vs Force scale and to his astonishment, as well as ours they scored 976, which is significantly higher than any other ingestible substance. If you aren’t familiar with this scale you we encourage you to google it, it’s absolutely fascinating. So what was it we were really dealing with here?? The answer would soon arrive…     

So off we went, with our new website up and running and visited well-being shows all over the country. It was at one of these shows, in Alderley Edge (itself a deeply mystical place linked to the legend Merlin and King Arthur), that the major pivot point came for us. Healer and plant spirit channel, Natalie walked passed our stall having never seen these teas before and felt an immediate connection. At the show she picked up each of the teas and gave us brief insights into what they each represented at a deeper level and over the following years she gave us many channeled mediations and shamanic style journeys with the teas as well as their spoken wisdom. Understandably inspired and excited by all this new information we set about trying to organise it all in a way to make it make sense to people and over the next 10 years looked at if from even conceivable angle. But in all honesty we found it really hard! 

It wasn’t until January 2026 that everything seemed to converge and finally make sense. Natalie did some beautiful new meditations (we prefer to call them ‘attunements’ as they work to tune your to the energy of the different teas). Anne having completed shamanic and counselling trainings giving her the skills to hold space for people and Ric discovered Gene Keys and learning to integrate them with his chi gung practise which speak directly to the contemplative practice to the relationship between tea and contemplation. 

Now finally it feels like we are ready to humbly share these magical gifts with you in the way that they were always meant to be.
